About Chris
If you just want to contact me, ignore the rest and leap straight to contact me. Simple.
If you want more detail just carry on.
I am a health professional with wide experience in information, health and medicine, now establishing a career as a specialist researcher in the health charity sector and academe. I have a personal policy and campaigning interest in older men and women with and at risk of, cancer. Clinical trials, child health and public (mis)understanding of health are also enthusiasms.
I can take on 'one off' exploratory or background projects for smaller health charities who seek evidence for service delivery or campaigning or who need a fresh eye on strategic choices. [I have a 18 month full time role coming up soon which will puts that on hold for a bit.]
I like to seek out evidence to build arguments on a firm base through epidemiology, literature reviews and official statistics. It's important to temper all that quantitative data with a qualitative spin, so I like to use to use evidence from social science, and user experience to really understand people as well as their health.
I like to research and write and can provide research assistance to anyone that needs some.
I'm keen on the kinds of things that broadsheet readerships are interested in - public health, especially cancer and screening but also healthy lifestyles and gender specific health - which means men's health too, not just women's.
See background for more about me and what I have been writing. See interests to give you more idea of what I'm about.
